process was smoother than on some previous
occasions, enabling substantial negotiations to
be arrived at swiftly.
Discussion, at the initiative of the employees'
council of ABN, of the consequences of the
shorter working week, in conjunction with the
increase in the workload, has meanwhile led to
an interim increase in the budgetted staff for the
branch network.
The Central Employees' Council was closely
involved in the planning and introduction of the
job assessment scheme.
Finally, in the area of automation, we
encountered a well-prepared and therefore
constructive form of "opposition" directed
towards an optimum balance between the
various interests.
